Why should I renew my ISACA certification?
ISACA requires certification holders to earn CPE (Continuing Professional Education) credits to retain their certifications in good standing. Certification holders must earn at least 20 CPE hours every year, and in total 120 CPE credits must be earned every three years.
What is CPE?
CPE is the abbreviation for Continuing Professional Education. ISACA requires certification holders to earn CPE credits to keep their certification in good standing. Typically, 1 CPE credit is gained by 1 hour of professional activity, attending an event, or an online course.
When should I start submitting ISACA CPE credits to renew my ISACA certification?
Earning CPE hours requires a significant amount of time. ISACA expects you to earn the required CPE hours over the given three-year period. If you leave to the end, you may have problems in submitting CPE credits and that might risk your certification status.
What are the ISACA CPE categories?
ISACA requires certification holders to earn CPE credits in certain fields and categories. These are Conferences, Webinars & online training, On-demand learning, Training courses & skills-based labs, Volunteer, and One in Tech educational events.
What are the ISACA CPE Requirements?
ISACA requires certification holders to earn 120 CPEs every three years to maintain their certifications. Certification holders must report at least 20 CPEs every year, during this three-year period.
Another requirement is paying the ISACA annual maintenance fee. This fee is 45 USD for ISACA members, and 85 USD for non-members.
What are the ways to earn ISACA CPE Hours?
There are six main categories to earn CPE credits: Conferences, Webinars & online training, On-demand learning, Training courses & skills-based labs, Volunteer, and One in Tech educational events.
How can I submit my earned ISACA CPE credits?

Upon submitting your CPE credits, ISACA will review your submission. After review, CPE credits are approved and shown on your profile.
What should I do after I complete ISACA CPE Hours?
After you complete ISACA CPE credits in your cycle, if you paid annual maintenance fees, your certification will be renewed by ISACA.
How much does the ISACA certification renewal cost?
To maintain your CISA, you must complete payment of the annual maintenance fee. This payment is due annually by 1 January and is required to be renewed through the upcoming calendar year. For example, to renew through the end of the current year, the current year's maintenance fee must be paid by 1 January of the current year.
